$150/Week Food Budget Canada (March)

Welcome back! It's that time again where I share my weekly meal plans for the month. Back in December & January, I was using many different cookbooks for inspiration or ideas, but this past month I reverted back to my old ways of using Pinterest. You got to do what you go to. March was super busy for us as it was the end of the hockey season for my 2 older boys which meant year-end weekend games and tournaments. It was a lot of hockey for this mama and I know in the future it will only get worse.....I...

Frugal Chili – 1 recipe, 3 meals for a family of 6

Today, I am sharing a chili recipe I make over and over. It’s simple, it’s frugal and I can make it stretch a long way. 2 lbs of ground beef are eaten quickly in this house and it’s the most expensive ingredient in this recipe. I use it all and split this recipe into 3. Instead of eating it three times the same way, I try to change it up and eat it with different carbs.

$150/Week Food Budget – Canada (February)

With the month over, here is our meal plan. I didn’t do so well with budgeting. I set a budget of $150/week and for 4 weeks I should be at $600, and I came to $648 eeeeeekkkkks!!! The point is that I am trying and will continue to try and do better. At least I am working with a budget is what I keep telling myself.

READY-MADE MEAL PLANS

Now if you are like me and do not have the time to plan out all your meals, research different recipes to feed to your family.  Have a look at the following different programs below. Most programs offer a trial period which is even better. You do not have to commit unless the plans work for your family. This is a huge time saver for me and removes the need to make decisions. I do not need to decide what we will eat as a family every single night. Of course, some meals may not work for us, but at...
