Frugal Chili – 1 recipe, 3 meals for a family of 6

Today, I am sharing a chili recipe I make over and over. It’s simple, it’s frugal and I can make it stretch a long way. 2 lbs of ground beef are eaten quickly in this house and it’s the most expensive ingredient in this recipe. I use it all and split this recipe into 3. Instead of eating it three times the same way, I try to change it up and eat it with different carbs.

$150/Week Food Budget – Canada (February)

With the month over, here is our meal plan. I didn’t do so well with budgeting. I set a budget of $150/week and for 4 weeks I should be at $600, and I came to $648 eeeeeekkkkks!!! The point is that I am trying and will continue to try and do better. At least I am working with a budget is what I keep telling myself.

Christmas, oh how I love bringing back traditional family baking!! Growing up, I remember both my grandma and my mother making these traditional Christmas Galettes. Every year we looked forward to them. We only made them at Christmas to keep them special. You want to try these sweet, crunchy delights. Before you can even begin to make these cookies, you need a unique iron maker. It looks similar to a waffle iron; only the grooves are not very deep. These are made special to keep your cookies nice and thin. I am lucky enough to have been given the family iron....
