$100 Canadian plus 14 meals equal approximately $7 a meal. As a family of 6, it comes to $1.20 per person, all this work was done in about 2 – 3 hours while my toddlers napped. Curious as to what recipes I chose? Continue reading
Have you noticed that I am back to full time work life? Don’t get me wrong, the last 18 months I was working full time but now I have to work under someone else’s orders…..wait wasn’t I working under little kid’s orders previously?? This is confusing.
Ever wonder how I load up my freezer with over 20 meals stress-free???? Maybe not 100% stress-free, but it’s definitely not the typical way you see all over Pinterest and other food bloggers. What do I do that is different?? Honestly, not much, just a little bit more planning and patience.

Today, I am sharing a chili recipe I make over and over. It’s simple, it’s frugal and I can make it stretch a long way. 2 lbs of ground beef are eaten quickly in this house and it’s the most expensive ingredient in this recipe. I use it all and split this recipe into 3. Instead of eating it three times the same way, I try to change it up and eat it with different carbs.
With the month over, here is our meal plan. I didn’t do so well with budgeting. I set a budget of $150/week and for 4 weeks I should be at $600, and I came to $648 eeeeeekkkkks!!! The point is that I am trying and will continue to try and do better. At least I am working with a budget is what I keep telling myself.
