Have you noticed that I am back to full time work life? Don’t get me wrong, the last 18 months I was working full time but now I have to work under someone else’s orders…..wait wasn’t I working under little kid’s orders previously?? This is confusing.
Ever wonder how I load up my freezer with over 20 meals stress-free???? Maybe not 100% stress-free, but it’s definitely not the typical way you see all over Pinterest and other food bloggers. What do I do that is different?? Honestly, not much, just a little bit more planning and patience.
Are you like me and have been staring at a blank wall for a year and a half? Probably not!!! We moved into our house in the fall of 2017 and I have been searching for a simple and quick decorative piece to set above my basement stairs.
The most asked question in this household. Every day, after school, both my 6 & 8-year-olds ask me this question. It drives me bonkers because if I answer, they will most likely say “oh gross, I don’t like so and so”.

Today, I am sharing a chili recipe I make over and over. It’s simple, it’s frugal and I can make it stretch a long way. 2 lbs of ground beef are eaten quickly in this house and it’s the most expensive ingredient in this recipe. I use it all and split this recipe into 3. Instead of eating it three times the same way, I try to change it up and eat it with different carbs.
With the month over, here is our meal plan. I didn’t do so well with budgeting. I set a budget of $150/week and for 4 weeks I should be at $600, and I came to $648 eeeeeekkkkks!!! The point is that I am trying and will continue to try and do better. At least I am working with a budget is what I keep telling myself.
Back in November, I wrote the blog post 15 Tips To Save Money On Groceries and to this day, I still follow those tips. However, I have a few more quick tips (some are in the blog post, but I provide examples and I did give a couple of new ones). I was inspired to talk about […]
As I love to share our weekly meal plans, here is what we did for January with a few different cookbooks found at the library. I loved it when I received recommendations from friends and Instagram followers. If you have a go-to cookbook, let me know, I would love to try it out.
Are you searching for ways to reduce your grocery bills? Did you know that as a family of 6 in Canada, I spend on average $140/week on groceries? Some weeks, I spend much less and others at about $150. I budget to be at $150 but always strive to be lower. 15 Tips To Save […]
